Ankylosing spondylitis - with dagger sign

Adult female with history of loins pain , CT study was done to rule out renal stone.

Patient Data

Age: Adult
Gender: Female

Incidental findings on scout view and coronal/sagittal CT images include a dagger sign of the spine which is a result of ossification of interspinous and supraspinous ligaments.

Case Discussion

The dagger sign is an imaging feature seen in ankylosing spondylitis as single central radiodense line related to ossification of supraspinous and interspinous ligaments.
