L4-5 diffuse posterior disc bulge partially encroaching upon exit foramina. It shows left posterolateral annular linear transverse high T2 signal, reflecting an annular fissure.

Case Discussion

Annular fissures are usually associated with degenerative disc disease. They may be painful or asymptomatic. They occur due to deficiency of a layer of annulus fibrosus of the intervertebral disc.
