Presentation

Vague abdominal symtomas

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female
ct

The pancreatic head has an unusual morphology, apparently encircling and narrowing the second part of the duodenum.  The findings are consistent with annular pancreas.  Solid intra-abdominal organs are otherwise normal.  No free fluid or lymphadenopathy.  Retroaortic left renal vein noted.

Case Discussion

Annular pancreas can be asymptomatic as is the case in this patient where the diagnosis was only made, probably incidentally at the age of 85 years.
