Presentation

Incidental finding. No gastrointestinal complaints.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

CT abdomen

CT of the abdomen demonstrates the second part of the duodenum encircling by pancreatic tissue (best seen on axial scans). But otherwise the pancreas is unremarkable. No common bile duct or duct of Wirsung dilatation.

Also hepatic simple cysts noted.

Case Discussion

This case shows incidental anomaly, a complete annular pancreas. The patient does not have any symptoms, although this anomaly can cause duodenal obstruction.
