Info

Generalised cerebral and cerebellar oedema with loss of grey-white matter differentiation, specks of subarachnoid and intra-cerebellar fresh blood densities, accompanied by tonsillar herniation, and moderate supra-tentorial hydrocephalic changes. No midline shift.

No intra-cranial flow could be detected in the CTA study.

Findings are consistent with anoxic brain injury.

Case Discussion

The patient died in the ICU two days later.

Tonsillar herniation is typically a pre-terminal event.
