Presentation
Sports injury.
Patient Data
Large joint effusion. Complex body/posterior horn medial meniscal tear with horizontal and vertical components. Vertical tear free edge body lateral meniscus.
Full thickness anterior cruciate ligament rupture. Posterior cruciate ligament is intact.
Avulsion fracture of the lateral tibial plateau involving capsular fibers and anterior fibers of the lateral collateral ligament. Interstitial tear of the conjoint tendon.
Pivot shift mechanism of injury osteochondral injuries of the lateral femoral condyle and lateral tibial plateau.
Case Discussion
Segond fractures are avulsion injuries of the lateral tibial plateau and are highly associated with anterior cruciate ligament injuries. This patient underwent an ACL reconstruction.
