Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

1st x-ray study

x-ray

Anterior glenohumeral joint dislocation, likely to be a subglenoid type, with a highly suggestive Hill-Sachs lesion.

2nd x-ray study

x-ray

X-ray after prompt reduction at emergency department.

Case Discussion

The patient presented above reported recurrent episodes of shoulder dislocation. Therefore, the repetitive events might relate to the Hill-Sachs lesion observed in the radiographs. Studies show that this lesion is created not at the time of dislocation but throughout the process of reduction.
