Lateral malleolar soft tissue swelling. Normal ankle joint alignment. No syndesmotic widening. Mildly displaced fracture of the superior cortex of the calcaneal anterior process.
Case Discussion
The anterior calcaneal process (along with the base of the 5th metatarsal) is one of the review areas to check for fractures in the presence of lateral malleolar soft tissue swelling (or pain) without malleolar fracture.
