Anterior shoulder dislocation with Hill-Sachs and bony Bankart lesions

Presentation

Trauma - fall more than 3 meters.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

Imaged lungs and pleural spaces are clear. Cardiomediastinal contour is unremarkable. Left shoulder dislocation. 

Anterior shoulder dislocation with impaction onto the glenoid, resulting in Hill-Sachs and bony Bankart lesions. 

Post enlocation x-ray demonstrates improved alignment of the shoulder with a large Hill-Sachs lesion. 

Case Discussion

Hill-Sachs and Bankart lesions are common complications of anterior shoulder dislocation. The CT shows the how a Hill-Sachs lesion occurs, which is when the humeral head impacts on the glenoid.
