Multiple small, round and radiopaque beads distributed along the head and femoral neck, greater trochanter, and also along the middle and distal diaphyseal regions of the femur.

Antibiotic impregnated beads are local antibiotics in the form of polymethylmethacrylate beads. They are placed during orthopedic procedures for treating osteomyelitis, as they deliver high doses of antibiotics to the surrounding tissues.
