Presentation

Right side nasal cavity obstruction and nasal speech.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

A polypoid lesion is seen within right maxillary sinus antrum with opacification of the antrum and maxillary sinus ostium and expansion of the ostium; it is extending within right nasal cavity, middle meatus and ipsilateral nasopharynx.

Opacification of the right side of the sphenoid sinus and a retention cyst in the left maxillary sinus.

Right side concha bullosa and mild left side nasal septum deviation are also seen.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the characteristic features of an antrochoanal polyp. The treatment of choice is surgical and incomplete resection leads to recurrence.
