Aortic dissection - Stanford type A

Aortic dissection of the ascending aorta. Moderate to large hemopericardium. The great vessels arise from the true lumen.
Remainder of the arch and descending aorta again demonstrate periaortic soft tissue consistent with thrombosed false lumen.
Case Discussion
This aortic dissection is essentially limited to the ascending aorta making it a Stanford type A / DeBakey type 2.
