Focal aortic root dilatation is seen, reaching in diameter up to 5 cm with atherosclerotic changes in its wall. No more diffuse ectasia. No obvious aortic dissection.

An aortic root aneurysm is a subtype of ascending aortic aneurysm.

It often has no symptoms and is usually revealed incidentally as widening of the aortic or mediastinal silhouettes.
