Old aortic regurgation

Age: 45 years

Focal aortic root dilatation is seen, reaching in diameter up to 5 cm with atherosclerotic changes in its wall. No more diffuse ectasia. No obvious aortic dissection.

Case Discussion

An aortic root aneurysm is a subtype of ascending aorta aneurysm.

It often has no symptoms and usually revealed incidentally as widening of the aortic or mediastinal silhouettes.
