The symptomatic right eye shows increased axial length. There is non-visualisation of the lens at normal location. There is no dislocated lens in the posterior segment. There are vitreous membranes showing after movements. There is no retinal or choroidal detachment.
The asymptomatic left eye shows normal lens and normal axial length.
Case Discussion
Ultrasound shows non-visualisation of right eye lens known as aphakia. Aphakia can be congenital, post-traumatic, post-surgical. The case represents post-traumatic aphakia.
