Non-contrast CT reveals a dilated and fluid-filled appendix, an impacted giant appendicolith at the base of the appendix with a diffuse periappendiceal inflammatory changes.
Case Discussion
In this case, the cause of the acute appendiceal inflammation is impaction by giant appendicolith.
