Appendicitis mass in inguinal hernia

Right femoral tenderness with an associated mass and features of sepsis. Generalised associated abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Male

There is an inflammatory mass in the right iliac fossa associated with the inflammed appendix and extending into the right inguinal canal. There is assocaited induration of intraperitoneal fat and subcutaneous oedema.

Case Discussion

Appendicitis with an associated inflammatory mass and collection that extends into the right inguinal canal, confirmed at surgery.
