Appendicitis with phlegmon

Fever and right iliac fossa pain.

Patient Data

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male

Peritoneal dialysis catheter seen in position with paucity of bowel gas in the right iliac fossa. Multiple rounded calcified/ossified opacities are seen projecting over the right iliac fossa ?appendicoliths.


Appendicular mass: inflamed appendix with phlegmon. Bilateral hydroureteronephrosis.

Case Discussion

6 year old boy known case of chronic renal failure on peritoneal dialysis, presented with fever and acute right iliac fossa pain of 5 days duration.
