Presentation

Had recent vaginal hysterectomy. Gelatinous ascites drained during surgery.

Patient Data

Age: 45
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Dilated fluid filled appendix in the right lower quadrant. The wall is thin and contains a focus of hyperechogenicity with twinkle artifact. Surrounding fat is normal. No peri-appendiceal fluid or collection.
