Aqueductal stenosis due to membranous occlusion

MR shows marked dilatations of the third and lateral ventricles without periventricular trans-ependymal edema. The fourth ventricle is normal.
Midsagittal T2 DRIVE images show a horizontal membranous / web occlusion at the lower end of the aqueducts.
The tectal plate is unremarkable.
Case Discussion
The aqueductal stenosis due to membranous / web occlusion is an uncommon cause of obstructive hydrocephalus.
