Case contributed by Dr Bruno Di Muzio

Patient Data

Age: 38
Gender: Male

MRI Brain

Cyst formation in the anterior portion of the left middle cranial fossa showing similar signal to the CSF in all the sequences, compressing the left temporal pole and remodeling the sphenoid bone. No contrast enhancement and no restricted diffusion. There is also a small probable retro cerebellar arachnoid cyst. Remainder exam is unremarkable.

Case Discussion

Typical features of an intracranial arachnoid cyst. Lesions like this one are generally asymptomatic and it is hard to create a correlation between the patient symptoms and the cyst.
