An irregular region of high T2 signal within the right side of the base of skull is consistent with arrested pneumatization of the sphenoid.

 

Case Discussion

Arrested pneumatization of the sphenoid is fairly common and should not be mistaken for pathology (e.g. metastasis, fibrous dysplasia, infection).
