Arterial dissection into common carotid artery

Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis certain

Ectatic and aneurysmal arch of aorta is demonstrated, with dissection flap originating in the right brachiocephalic artery and continuing into the common carotid artery (CCA) on the right. This finishes prior to the CCA bifurcation. The internal carotid artery remains of even caliber, although markedly tortuous.

The left internal carotid artery and common carotid artery appear unremarkable.
