CXR demonstrates widespread ill-defined opacities projecting over both lungs. On lateral projection some of these lesions are seen to be plurally based. No convincing calcification. Lungs appear unremarkable.
This patient went on to have a CT of the chest (not shown) which demonstrated these lesions to be pleural. There was a history of asbestos exposure and these lesions had remained unchanged for years. They are therefore consistent with asbestos related pleural plaques, which can be 'lumpy'.
