Presentation

Empty left hemiscrotum.

Patient Data

Age: 4 months
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Normal right testis (18 x 11 x 8 mm) and epididymis in the right hemiscrotum. Normal right spermatic cord in the right inguinal canal. Left spermatic cord in the left inguinal canal. It leads to a heterogeneous echopattern focus (6 x 5 x 3 mm) with calcifications which is located at the caudal end of the inguinal canal.

1st short-axis loop from cranial to caudal direction shows the left side. 2nd loop shows the normal right side.

Case Discussion

An infant with an empty left hemiscrotum was referred to localize testis. The ultrasound shows an atrophic testis in the left inguinal canal.
