Abdominal pain.
Patient Data
Diffuse enlargement of the pancreas with loss of definition of the pancreatic clefts and several internal small cyst like lesions are seen, accompanied by surrounding fat strandings. Several prominent lymphnodes with maximum SAD of 8mm are seen in the vicinity of the diseased pancreas. A little amount free fluid is present at peripancreatic & perisplenic spaces. Bile & pancreatic ducts are not dilated.
Case Discussion
Findings on CT scan are the most likely compatible with autoimmune pancreatitis.
Serum IgG4 levels were greater than 300 mg/dL, helping to confirm this diagnosis.
These imaging findings are important to identify as the patients can avoid more extensive workup and can be treated more promptly with steroids.
