Autoimmune pancreatitis

Young woman with epigastric pain. Serology negative.

Patient Data

Age: 28
Gender: Female

In the DWI ( b800) and see a restriction of diffusion with signal loss in the ADC in the corpus and the tail. Mild hyperintensity in T2 with progressive contrast enhancement.

The cholangiogram shows an irregularity of the intrahepatic bile ducts, as the result of cholangitis.

Case Discussion

Autoimmune pancreatitis can be mistakenly diagnosed as pancreatic cancer. It is very important to identify this pathology. Sometimes only the imaging can make the diagnosis.
