Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease

Presentation

Sudden onset pain in right renal area. Masses palpable in the abdomen. Creatinine 93, GFR 58.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

The kidneys are greatly enlarged (>18 cm left, 15 cm right). Both contain multiple cysts of varying density. Some cysts are quite dense, indicating hemorrhage into the cysts. Multiple hepatic cysts are also present. No ovarian cysts seen.
