Pain in right hip

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
mri

Avascular necrosis of right femoral head is seen with geographical area of sclerosis, convex to the overlying cortex. Areas of subchondral collapse seen in femoral head with reduced joint space and marginal osteophytes. Subchondral cystic changes, remodeling and marrow edema seen in adjacent acetabulum.

Case Discussion

Findings are suggestive of stage IV avascular necrosis of right femoral head.
