Avascular necrosis of the hip

Long-standing pain in both hip regions, increases during walking.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

A serpiginous area of altered signal intensity seen in the heads of both femurs. Also, STIR hyperintense signal changes seen in left femoral neck possibly represent transient osteoporosis.

Case Discussion

Findings suggest bilateral avascular necrosis of with transient osteoporosis of left hip.
