Presentation

History of trauma to the left elbow while playing, pain, mild swelling, and movement limitation.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

There is a small bony projection seen arising from the distal humerus anterior aspect pointing towards the elbow joint. The appearances are typical for supracondylar spur (anatomical variant).

No fracture or dislocation. No joint effusion.

There is a small bony projection seen arising from the distal humerus anterior aspect pointing towards the elbow joint, the appearances are typical for supracondylar spur.

Differential diagnosis:

May mimic exostosis and osteochondroma.

The clinician should consider the presence of the supracondylar process in the differential diagnosis of patients with neurovascular symptoms.
