History of injury to the right foot due to falling 3 days ago at the workplace. Clinical examination: No open wound, swelling, and tenderness at the 5th metatarsal base.

There is an intra-articular avulsion fracture of the base of the right 5th metatarsal, associated with adjacent soft tissue swelling. The mid-foot alignment is normal. Joint spaces are maintained.

Case Discussion
This fracture is located 1.3 cm distal to the proximal tuberosity at the metaphyseal junction, involving the tarsometatarsal joint, whereas a Jones fracture does not involve the joint.
