Presentation

Pain and swelling at the right ankle and foot since this morning after a twisted ankle while step down the stairs. On examination: mild swelling, hotness, and tenderness over the lateral malleolus and base of the dorsal side of the right foot.

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

X-ray shows chip fracture at the right cuboid bone, clearly seen at the oblique view.

Case Discussion

The treatment of this fracture is simple, immobilization by a splint. No further imaging is required.
