Axillary sinus

C/o discharge from axillary region - 5 yrs. P/H/O local surgery for same region about 12 yrs back. O/E - Discharging sinus. Referred for radiograph and Ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 40 yrs
Gender: Female

Erosion of medial aspect of humeral neck.


Sinus tract extends cranially and medially towards humeral neck region. Its lenght is about 3 - 4 cm. Approximataly 3 x 3 cm sized hypoechoic area is noted at the end of tract.Two strongly echogenic linear echoes are noted in colletion.

Case Discussion

Axillary sinus tract and defect in neck of humerus are consistent of osteomyelitis and abscess formation.
