Imaging requested for acute breathlessness and chest pain. No significant respiratory history.

Patient Data

Age: 70
Gender: Female
x-ray

Underinspired lungs. No lobar consolidation or collapse.

Linear opacification in right upper zone.

CTPA

No filling defect or parenchymal abnormalities.

Deviated azygos fissure with azygos vein draining into contrast-filled right subclavian vein.

Case Discussion

The partial fissure seen in the right upper lobe contains the azygos vein. The portion of right upper lobe medial to this can be termed the azygos lobe.

No cause for breathlessness was identified for this patient.
