B-cell lymphoma - breast

Case contributed by Garth Kruger
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Diagnostic workup on a 40 year old woman with a mass in the right breast.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Female
ultrasound

The ultrasound of the mass shows a mixed echogenicity mass lesion with smoothly lobulated margins.

Case Discussion

The lesion at biopsy was almost not palpable with the biopsy needle. With IDC this size and smaller, there is often  a sensation of "hardness" when prodding and nearing the lesion to biopsy. This lesion was soft. B-cell lymphoma of the breast was demonstrated.
