Baker cyst - ruptured

Presentation

Sore and swollen knee since injury.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
mri

There is a large joint effusion, a Baker cyst and extensive soft tissue fluid suggesting that the Baker cyst may have ruptured, or there may be a tear of the medial gastrocnemius complex at a lower level. 

There is also a horizontal tear of the body of the medial meniscus and an associated osteochondral defect involving the lateral aspect of the medial femoral condyle.
