MR reveals a continuous band-like heterotopic grey matter seen just deep and paralleling the cortex separated from it with a thin layer of white matter. The signal intensity of heterotopic grey matter is the isointense to normal cortex on all sequences. The overlying cortex is mildly pachygyric.
There is also cerebellar vermian hypoplasia was noted.
Case Discussion
The case demonstrates typical findings of band heterotopia or lissencephaly type 1-subcortical band heterotopia spectrum with double cortex sign.
