Basal cell carcinoma (periocular with orbital invasion)

Presentation

Skin lesion on the right malar region. CT scan to evaluate local extension.

Patient Data

Age: 85 years
Gender: Female

There is a soft tissue mass with enhancement that involves skins and subcutaneous in left malar region and extends to preseptal and postseptal left orbit. The lesion seems to invade anterior portion of inferior and lateral rectus muscles.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) corresponds to about 75% off all cutaneous malignant tumors. It affects mainly males over 40 years-old, white and with a known history of solar exposion. Commonly it affects the skin on face.
