Acute intracerebral hemorrhage centered in the basal ganglia of the right hemisphere
Extension of hemorrhage into the lateral ventricles (intraventricular hemorrhage), and passing into the third ventricle
No hydrocephalus at this stage.
Case Discussion
Large intraventricular hemorrhage extending from a right basal ganglia parenchymal bleed.
This type of bleed is characteristic of a basal ganglia hemorrhage secondary to long-standing hypertension.
