Base of 2nd metacarpal fracture

Presentation

History of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

There is evidence of comminuted facture in the right 2nd metacarpal base.
Rest of the metacarpals appear normal.
No definite fracture in the phalanges.
Carpals bones are well aligned. No fracture is seen.
Distal parts of radius and ulna are unremarkable.
No evidence of any apparent dislocation.

Case Discussion

The features are compatible with comminuted fracture in the right 2nd metacarpal base.
