Case Discussion

The beak sign is a cross-sectional imaging feature that is helpful in differentiating the true and false lumens in aortic dissections. This feature is seen in the false lumen which wedges around the true lumen. The wall of the false lumen and the intimal flap usually form acute angles resembling a bird’s beak.
