Fall. Left hand swelling.

Age: 75
Gender: Male
x-ray

Cortical irregularity and linear lucency through the proximal metaphysis of the left first metacarpal.

No further bony abnormality is identified. Alignment remains anatomical.

Case Discussion

Bennett fractures are two-part, intra-articular fractures of the base of the first metacarpal. They should be distinguished from epibasal (pseudo-Bennett) and Rolando fractures
