Displaced 2 part intra-articular fracture of the 1st metacarpal base, with a smaller volar fragment and subluxation of the 1st CMCJ. The fracture configuration is in keeping with a Bennett fracture.
Case Discussion
A Bennett fracture is a 2 part 1st metacarpal fracture (thumb), whereas a Rolando fracture is a 3 part fracture. A description of the fracture should accompany any classification, to prevent any misunderstanding.
