Within the carpal tunnel a bifid median nerve is seen with a vessel running alongside in keeping with a persistent median artery of the forearm.
Chondroid lesion/cyst within the base of the 1st metacarpal.
Uncomplicated type 2 lunate.
Case Discussion
As with this case, Bifid median nerve and persistent median artery of the forearm are usually incidental findings. However, this variant anatomy should be mentioned in your report, as if carpal tunnel surgery is planned the surgeon will know to identify these extra structures to avoid damage.
