Routine health check up.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There are accessory ribs arising from the 7th cervical vertebra, larger on the left, suggestive of cervical ribs. C2 through C7 vertebrae show segmentation defects. Cervical scoliosis convex to the left side.

Case Discussion

Most patients with cervical ribs are asymptomatic.

Symptomatic patients can be secondary to thoracic outlet syndrome (neurogenic, arterial or venous compression).
