Bilateral femoro-acetabular impingement

Case contributed by Dr Kenny Sim

Right hip pain

Patient Data

Age: 39
Gender: Male

There is CAM type deformity of bilateral femoral necks, more pronounced on the right. There is also borderline acetabular over coverage on the right, suggesting a combined type femoro-acetabular impingement on this side. Ossified fragments, in a triangular distribution at the posterolateral acetabular margin on the right likely represent an area of labral ossification. No fracture identified. No plain film features of osteoarthritis.
