Presentation

Teenager waiting for surgery for flat feet.

Patient Data

Age: 13 years
Gender: Male

Both feet - before surgery

x-ray

Bilaterally it's decreased the width of the plantar arch with Costa Bertani angle of 150° (normal value <125°). Verticalized articulation talus-navicular. Valgus hindfoot and misalignment talus-heel.

Case Discussion

When there is a misalignment talus-heel, around ten or twelve years of age, it can be corrected by surgery.
