Presentation
Left loin pain.
Patient Data
An x-ray scout demonstrates an abnormal radiodense stone noted at the proximal left ureteric course. Bilateral abnormal gas densities are seen at the inguinal regions that suggest possible bowel content of the inguinal canals.
A non-contrast CT confirmed left ureteric stone with upstream dilatation consistent with obstruction. Bilateral inguinal hernias contain bowel loops and omental fat.
Case Discussion
A patient with left loin pain referred for a non-contrast study of the urinary tract. The patient's scout suggests possible left ureteric stones as well as bowel loops content of the inguinal canals, the diagnosis was confirmed by CT. No signs of strangulation or bowel obstruction.
