Bilateral posterior shoulder fracture dislocation. ? Head displacement. For urgent surgery today.
Patient Data
Left shoulder
Intra-articular posterior fracture dislocation of the glenohumeral joint.
Right shoulder
Posterior fracture dislocation of the glenohumeral joint, involving the humeral neck and head.
Left shoulder
Comminuted intra-articular depressed fracture of the humeral head. The glenoid is intact.
Right shoulder
Comminuted depressed, intra-articular fracture of the humerus. Posterior subluxation of the fractured humeral head. The humeral head is impacted on the posterior rim of the glenoid.
The glenoid is intact.
Case Discussion
This patient was electrocuted in the course of his work as an engineer. Immediate pain and disablement followed.
One can only imagine the extent of this given the marked trauma which has resulted in this otherwise healthy, fairly young male.
He proceeded to corrective orthopedic surgery after the CT scan.
